Thanks to Citizens Who Paid Diligently Despite the Recession
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Changwon City in Gyeongnam Province received the grand prize in this year's Gyeongnam Regional Tax Administration Comprehensive Evaluation, securing the overall first place for the fourth consecutive year.
Gyeongsangnam-do conducts an annual comprehensive evaluation of local tax administration to encourage healthy competition among the 18 cities and counties within the province and to promote the development of local tax administration, including tax revenue expansion.
The evaluation covered 22 items across 8 areas: local tax assessment and collection, arrears management, tax audits, local tax reviews, non-tax revenue, local income tax, and general tax administration.
Changwon City received excellent evaluations for discovering new tax sources and special policies such as a comprehensive investigation of local taxes at large construction sites and a full survey of real estate exemptions for farmers and fishermen, achieving high scores in all areas.
This year, the city plans to continuously discover tax sources and actively promote local tax tasks to secure independent financial resources and collect arrears.
