GS Donates 1 Billion KRW in Support Funds for 'Donghaean Wildfire'
Delivered to the Community Chest of Korea on the 7th
Provision of daily necessities and recovery support by affiliates
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] GS Group announced on the 7th that it has donated 1 billion KRW to the Community Chest of Korea to support wildfire damage relief efforts in Gangwon Province.
A GS representative said, "We hope to comfort the pain of the residents in the affected areas and provide a small help to those facing difficulties," adding, "GS will continue to do its best to support recovery efforts for disaster-vulnerable groups and those affected."
Separately from this wildfire damage relief donation, GS is actively working through its affiliates to overcome the damage.
GS Caltex delivered relief supplies worth about 100 million KRW to the National Disaster Relief Association, including 100 one-touch tents, 40 partitioned dividers, 720 sleeping bags, masks, and sleep masks for evacuees in shelters during disasters and calamities.
GS Retail delivered about 20,000 emergency relief items to the field command centers for residents affected by the wildfires in Uljin County, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Samcheok and Donghae cities in Gangwon-do over two days on the night of the 4th and the 5th. The support mainly focused on food items urgently requested in the affected areas, such as cup noodles, beverages, bottled water, and bread. GS Retail urgently provided supplies through logistics centers in Gangneung and Wonju cities in Gangwon-do and Gyeongsan city in Gyeongsangbuk-do. GS25 employees in Gyeongsangbuk-do and Gangwon-do also voluntarily helped unload and organize the supplies.
GS Donghae Power visited Donghae city on the 6th to deliver relief supplies for wildfire evacuees and pledged continuous support after assessing the damage status and scale.

GS has previously donated 1 billion KRW in relief funds as part of social efforts to overcome COVID-19. In addition, it has provided disaster relief funds for the Sewol ferry disaster and the Gangwon Province wildfire damage.
