[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] LG announced on the 7th that it will donate 2 billion KRW to the Community Chest of Korea to support those affected by the large wildfires in Gyeongbuk and Gangwon-do.
In addition, LG will provide the LG Life Training Center in Uljin, Gyeongsangbuk-do as temporary shelter for evacuees who lost their homes due to the large wildfires. The facility will be used as temporary housing for the affected evacuees in consultation with local governments and other organizations.
Each affiliate is also contributing to the rapid recovery from the wildfire damage.
LG Electronics will support appliances such as washing machines and air purifiers at shelters to minimize inconvenience during the evacuees' stay. They will also operate a mobile service center to repair damaged home appliances free of charge for affected households.
LG Household & Health Care will provide essential hygiene products and daily necessities such as soap, toothpaste, and detergent to evacuees. LG Uplus has decided to reduce communication service fees, including mobile phones, high-speed internet, and internet phone services, to ease the burden on affected customers. In addition to providing various services such as Wi-Fi, IPTV, and mobile phone charging, they also delivered disaster relief kits containing necessary items for evacuees in case of disaster.
