[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Shinsegae Food, which operates the burger franchise 'No Brand Burger,' announced on the 7th that it will launch a pizza specialty store called 'No Brand Pizza.'
Shinsegae Food explained the background of the brand launch, stating that due to the continuous rise in labor costs, ingredients, and delivery fees, consumers' dining-out price burdens have increased, creating a need for a domestic native pizza brand that can be enjoyed at a reasonable price.
Shinsegae Food's strategy is to introduce cost-effective pizzas to reduce consumers' price burdens and increase market trust, thereby generating strong responses. Previously, No Brand Burger, launched in 2019 with a 'cost-effectiveness' concept, gained popularity with reasonable prices, opening its 170th store in just two and a half years, the shortest period in the industry.
The price range of No Brand Pizza is from 14,900 KRW to 23,900 KRW, which is about 20% cheaper compared to similar menus from global pizza brands. The representative menu of No Brand Pizza, 'Sensation Supreme,' is priced at 17,900 KRW, approximately 20% less expensive than the average price of 23,000 KRW for combination pizzas from global pizza brands.
Shinsegae Food also developed and introduced the 'Smart Pizza Kitchen' system, which completes pizzas within 8 minutes, the shortest time in the industry. Through the pizza dough ball developed for fast cooking and the newly introduced equipment implementing the 'Smart Pizza Kitchen' system, consumer wait times after ordering have been reduced, and store owners can produce and sell more pizzas in the same amount of time, improving efficiency and profitability.
Shinsegae Food will open the Daechi branch in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, as a No Brand Pizza test store on the 10th and conduct franchise development tests for small business owners.
