Samsung Provides 3 Billion KRW Support for Wildfire Damage Recovery in Uljin and Samcheok
Participation of 8 Samsung Affiliates
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] Samsung announced on the 6th that it has donated 3 billion KRW in relief funds to residents suffering from the large-scale wildfires in the Gyeongbuk Uljin and Gangwon Samcheok areas.
The funds will be delivered through the National Disaster Relief Association. Eight Samsung affiliates participated in this donation, including Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, Samsung SDI, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung SDS, Samsung Life Insurance, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, and Samsung C&T.
Separately, Samsung also decided to provide 1,000 disaster relief kits consisting of daily necessities for disaster victims living in temporary shelters.

In 2020, Samsung donated 3 billion KRW and relief kits to help restore areas damaged by heavy rains, and contributed 30 billion KRW in relief funds and supplies as part of social efforts to overcome COVID-19. In 2019, during Typhoon Mitag and the Gangwon wildfires, Samsung donated 2 billion KRW each and conducted volunteer activities to support recovery efforts.
