Jeonnam Early Voting Rate Approaches 50%... Highest Record Nationwide
Final tally over two days: Jeonnam 49.48%·Gwangju 45.72% turnout
Increase of 15.44%p·12.05%p compared to 19th presidential election turnout
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Early voting rates in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions have reached an all-time high.
According to the Central Election Commission on the 5th, the early voting rate from the previous day to the current day was finally tallied at 45.72% in Gwangju and 49.48% in Jeonnam.
In Gwangju, out of 129,206 eligible voters, 782,444 completed early voting.
The early voting rate for the 19th presidential election was 33.67%, showing an increase of 12.05 percentage points.
By region, Dong-gu had the highest rate at 49.36%, followed by Nam-gu at 47.86%, Buk-gu at 46.91%, Seo-gu at 46.16%, and Gwangsan-gu at 41.86%.
The voting rate in the Jeonnam region was the highest nationwide. Compared to 34.04% in the 19th presidential election, it increased by 15.44%.
Among the 22 cities and counties, 16 areas recorded rates exceeding 50%.

Shinan had the highest rate at 59.9%, followed by Jangseong (58.56%), Gokseong (57.79%), Jangheung (56.04%), Damyang (55.98%), and Gangjin (55.66%). The lowest voting rate was recorded in Gwangyang at 42.18%.
