Yoon Seok-yeol: "Political reform means the 586 ideological cliques packing up and going home"
Yoon: "Democratic Party Has No Right to Talk About Political Reform"
[Asia Economy Reporters Koo Chae-eun and Kang Joo-hee] Yoon Seok-yeol, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, claimed on the 5th that "the 586 ideological clique packing up and going home from our country's political scene is political reform," referring to the political reform plan proposed by the Democratic Party. He also criticized the current government's failure in COVID-19 quarantine measures, saying, "What was the point of scanning QR codes so much until now?"
On the afternoon of the same day at a campaign rally in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, Candidate Yoon said, "(The government) gave up on epidemiological investigations and selectively makes things very inconvenient and difficult for the people," expressing his criticism.
Regarding Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung's condemnation of North Korea's missile launches, Yoon said, "It seems like they are doing this to appeal to moderate voters ahead of the election, but I do not call it provocation," adding, "Continuing missile tests capable of carrying nuclear warheads is a serious provocation."
Yoon appealed, "If only the government refrains from crazy and foolish acts, there is no reason for the people to suffer," and urged, "Please replace these ill-mannered servants this time." Earlier, at a campaign rally in Chungju, Chungbuk, he said, "If you want political reform, you have to change the election law first," and questioned, "Does the Democratic Party have the right to talk about political reform after stabbing the Justice Party in the back?" He then reiterated, "The 586 ideological clique packing up and going home from our country's political scene is political reform."

Regarding the constitutional amendment for a parliamentary system, he mentioned, "It is a system that requires the prime minister or premier to have the capability to engage in immediate Q&A with lawmakers from both ruling and opposition parties in the National Assembly plenary session from morning till late at night once a week." He then criticized, "They have done all sorts of bad things under the presidential system, and now that they are likely to lose the election, they are talking nonsense about recommending the prime minister through the National Assembly."
