Jeonbuk Imsil-gun, Active Exchange with 35th Division... "Excellent Win-Win Cooperation"
[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, is gaining attention as a 'well-performing local government' for its continuous support and active exchanges with the 35th Division, fostering a win-win cooperation with the military unit.
On the 2nd, the county supported the 35th Division with one snow removal equipment unit, spending 14 million won to ensure rapid snow removal work during the winter season.
The snow removal equipment provided this time is a snowplow mounted on the front of a 15-ton dump truck, which, along with the previously supplied salt spreader, is essential equipment for quick snow removal along roadsides.
With this support, the 35th Division will take charge of snow removal work over a 20km section in Ido-ri and Gamseong-ri of Imsil-eup and the 35th Division area, which was previously managed by the county.
Earlier, in October 2020, the county spent 53 million won to lend a sand spreader for snow removal to the 35th Division.
Through this, the 35th Division took responsibility for a 40km road section in Ido-ri, Gamseong-ri, and the 35th Division area of Imsil-eup, effectively addressing residents' inconvenience and safety issues caused by heavy snowfall.
This cooperation has been evaluated as a win-win case, saving manpower, equipment, and time between the local government and the military unit, while enabling rapid snow removal work.
Additionally, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the county provided conveniences such as 23 thermal cameras, over 40 shade tents, more than 300 event chairs, and masks to support guardians attending the 35th Infantry Division's new recruit enlistment and discharge ceremonies with their sons.
Due to COVID-19, the 35th Division was unable to hold training and events, but during the new recruit enlistment and discharge ceremonies, the county offered conveniences to the families and soldiers visiting Imsil-gun, receiving high praise for its meticulous win-win administration, including mask support.
The county has established and implemented various support measures for military units so far.
These include support for vehicles of soldiers on leave and Imsil Love Gift Certificates, as well as providing 300,000 won worth of Imsil Love Gift Certificates to military households moving in to increase population and boost morale among exemplary soldiers.
A county official said, “We deeply appreciate the 35th Division for actively expressing their willingness to cooperate for the safety of local residents,” adding, “We will do our best to provide safe road environments to residents through rapid and systematic snow removal work in mutual cooperation between Imsil-gun and the 35th Division.”
He continued, “Although difficulties continue due to the spread of COVID-19, we will strive to discover and implement various policies for win-win cooperation with military units.”
