How About Living in the Countryside? ... Sangju-si, Gyeongbuk, Recruiting Participants for Returning to Farming and Rural Life
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Sangju City, Gyeongbuk Province, is recruiting participants for the "Living in the Countryside" experience program to allow urban residents to experience rural life and encourage stable settlement in the region.
The application requirement is that applicants must be urban residents with addresses outside of Sangju City. Participants will receive housing and training programs, along with a monthly training allowance of 300,000 KRW.
The villages selected for the Living in the Countryside program, after screening, are Eunjagol Experience Village in Euncheok-myeon, Seunggok-ri Experience Village in Nakdong-myeon, and Jeongyang-ri Village in Modong-myeon. Each village operates the program for periods ranging from 2 months up to 6 months.
Eunjagol Experience Village is designed for return-to-farming participants and offers experience and education programs covering overall farming activities such as cultivation techniques for major local crops and harvest management.
Seunggok Experience Village is for return-to-village participants and provides a balanced variety of programs including understanding rural life, regional exchange and exploration, and farming practice to help adapt to rural living.
Jeongyang-ri Village offers a long-term internship program where participants experience the entire farming cycle "from preparation to shipment," with a specialized program focused on grape production, the region's representative crop.
