Nurturing Next-Generation Web Developers... Busan City Operates 'SW Engineer Track'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan City will operate a web developer training program called ‘SW Engineer Track’ for about four months starting in April. Applicants will be recruited until the 13th of this month.
‘SW Engineer Track’ is a training program under the ‘K-Digital Training’ project, one of the Busan Digital Innovation Academy initiatives aimed at large-scale cultivation of information and communication technology (ICT) personnel.
In collaboration with the coding specialist company, Alice Co., Ltd., the program will run for 16 weeks from April 4 to July 23.
The program covers technology stacks used in the field, from web basics to frontend and backend development. Based on a curriculum developed by Alice, team projects will be conducted in the same way as actual development teams.
The training also includes job-related special lectures, mentoring by current professionals, resume and portfolio review, and other employment support programs, aiming to connect participants with IT companies for recruitment.
Due to the digital transformation trend across all industries, the demand for web developers is rapidly increasing, and attempts by non-majors of various ages and backgrounds to enter IT development roles are also on the rise.
Through the ‘SW Engineer Track,’ which educates all aspects of web development from basic theory to practical projects, non-majors are expected to sufficiently acquire the skills and expertise needed in the field.
The training is provided free of charge for graduates and job seekers and will be conducted both online and offline.
Applications can be submitted by March 13 through the Alice website, Busan Youth Platform, and Busan Job Information Network.
