Hulim Robot and ETRI Collaborate on Digital Twin Indoor Logistics Testbed
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Hurim Robot announced on the 3rd that it has produced and supplied an indoor logistics testbed for digital twin demos in collaboration with the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI).
Hurim Robot's Tetra DS5 is the fifth mobile robot developed by Hurim Robot, capable of autonomous driving based on artificial intelligence (AI).
ETRI, which collaborated with Hurim Robot, has been researching digital twins domestically for the first time since 2018 and has been striving for standardization. The digital twin application system developed in collaboration with ETRI uses the Tetra DS5 as a reference for a logistics transportation system within a smart factory employing AMRs. It automatically loads cargo generated from fixed conveyors installed in the manufacturing process onto the Tetra DS5 and transports it to designated locations.
Digital twins are utilized to configure metafactories (virtual manufacturing plants). They perform simulations for productivity optimization from the factory construction stage and can be widely used to manage operating factories more efficiently.
