Etoos Metaverse Elephant Students, 84% Respond 'Satisfied'
Survey Results of Single-Subject Students: 67% Very Satisfied, 17% Satisfied
Real-Time Interactive Communication and Sense of Presence Cited as Advantages
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Among the students enrolled in Etoos Education's metaverse learning space, Elefun, 84% expressed satisfaction with the metaverse-style lectures.
On the 3rd, Etoos Education announced the results of a survey conducted last month with 3,000 students to assess satisfaction and areas for improvement regarding metaverse lectures. Among the students currently taking courses, 67% responded that they were very satisfied, and 17% said they were satisfied. The responses for 'neutral' and 'dissatisfied' were 11% and 4%, respectively.
Regarding the advantages of metaverse classes, students cited ▲being able to study through real-time interactive communication (28%) ▲feeling a sense of presence which increased concentration (14%) ▲having fixed class times allowing focused study during those periods (11%) ▲studying with interest due to immersive elements such as avatars (9%), among others.
As for preferred class formats in metaverse lectures, ‘live lectures’ that allow real-time classes (67%) were overwhelmingly favored over ‘VOD lectures’ (12%) that are specially edited for the metaverse. Live lectures offer the advantage of a sense of presence similar to attending academy classes and enable real-time communication. Eighty percent of students attend metaverse lectures using tablet PCs, while the remainder use smartphones (16%) and laptops (4%).

No Jaekyu, Head of Etoos Education’s Online Business Division, said, "The greatest advantage of metaverse lectures is overcoming the shortcomings of previous online lectures that lacked management, and enhancing learning efficiency through interaction between instructors and students." He added, "We will use the survey results to develop the Etoos single-subject service within Elefun into a virtual academy optimized for learning, transcending the boundaries between online and offline lectures."
