GS25 Remodels Triangle Gimbap After 20 Years... "Virtual Human Hosts Unpack Show"

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] GS25 announced on the 3rd that it will carry out a "full change renovation" that changes both the exterior and interior of triangular gimbap for the first time in 20 years. The AI virtual human Lia will showcase the products through a live broadcast called the "All-New Triangular Gimbap Unpack Show."
This renovation focuses on the trends of premiumization and increased portion sizes of triangular gimbap. In fact, sales of the larger triangular gimbap (products with 30% more weight compared to regular items) increased by 94% in 2022 compared to 2018.
GS25 added furikake and roasted meat toppings evenly across the entire surface, including the corners of the triangular gimbap, and renamed the product to Full Triangular Gimbap. They also enhanced the umami flavor of the rice by adding kelp concentrate to all products and optimized the roasting of seasoned seaweed to maximize a crispy texture.
GS25 will hold the unpack show through a Naver live broadcast at 3 PM on the same day. During this broadcast, three types?Full Tuna Mayo (1,500 KRW), Full Jeonju Bibimbap (1,500 KRW), and Full Spam Kimchi Fried Rice (1,600 KRW)?will be sold in limited quantities of 3,000 units each at the 20-year-old price of 700 KRW.
