Millie's Library and Dasan Books Host the '2022 SF Audio Story Awards'... Grand Prize of 10 Million KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The reading platform Millie’s Library is hosting the ‘2022 SF Audio Story Awards’ with Dasan Books, offering a total prize pool of 20 million KRW.
Anyone can participate regardless of whether they are a new or established writer, by submitting an SF novel manuscript between 100 and 200 pages in length.
Six winning works will be selected through judging panel evaluations, with the grand prize winner determined by combining reader voting scores and judges’ scores. All six selected works will be produced as audiobooks, which will be sequentially released two at a time on Millie’s Library starting in June. Reader voting to decide the grand prize will take place over two weeks from August 8 to 22, with the final results announced on August 26 after tallying the votes.
Winners will receive prize money and opportunities to publish both e-books and print books. The grand prize winner will receive 10 million KRW, and five excellence award winners will each receive 2 million KRW. All winning works will be pre-released as audiobooks and will be published as print books (Dasan Books) and e-books (Millie’s Library) in September. Detailed information about the contest can be found on the Millie’s Library website.
Kim Taehyung, Head of Content at Millie’s Library, said, “Since SF works are already very popular on Millie’s Library, we are striving to create an environment where more creators can produce high-quality content and expand it into secondary content such as audiobooks.” He added, “Especially, the winning works of this contest will be available not only as e-books but also as audiobooks, allowing various secondary content based on the book IP. This opens new opportunities for young writers and offers readers a more diverse reading experience.”
