Hyundai Construction Equipment and Korea Kubota Recall 2,734 Excavators for Correction Measures
[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 2nd that a manufacturing defect was found in 2,734 units of two types of construction machinery, including excavators, produced or imported and sold by Hyundai Construction Equipment and Korea Kubota, and corrective measures (recall) will be taken.
Among them, 2,062 units of excavators (HW145) manufactured and sold by Hyundai Construction Equipment were found to have bolts and nuts securing the lower frame and axle of the excavator loosened, which could pose a safety risk.
These construction machines can be repaired free of charge (inspection and replacement, etc.) at Hyundai Construction Equipment's official service centers starting from the 4th.
Additionally, 672 units of excavators (U-20-5S) imported and sold by Korea Kubota have a crawler wheel width of 240 mm, which differs from the type approval specification (250 mm), and a recall will be initiated.
