Daegu University Selected for 'Regional Unification Education Center' Public Project
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Daegu University has been selected for the 2022 Regional Unification Education Center contest project hosted by the National Unification Education Institute of the Ministry of Unification.
The Regional Unification Education Center project is a program that creates synergy effects in cooperation with local governments and private organizations according to the Unification Education Support Act, aiming to raise local residents' interest and understanding of unification issues.
The Gyeongbuk Unification Education Center will receive an annual subsidy of 200 million KRW and will serve as a hub for peace unification education in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions.
This Regional Unification Education Center project is evaluated as an opportunity for Daegu University to become the center of regional unification education, as it was selected as a university with the will and capability to implement peace unification education.

Professor Kim Jeong-su of Daegu University's Department of Liberal Arts said, “Peace unification education should contribute to national integration with the goal of establishing a peace unification culture that transcends ideology, political factions, and social classes,” adding, “I want to present an enjoyable and beneficial experiential education model targeting general city and provincial residents as well as students.”
