The Korean Securities Association Appoints Seonhoon Seon as the 39th President, Professor at Konkuk University
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] The Korea Securities Association has appointed Professor Seon Jeong-hoon of Konkuk University Business School as its 39th president.
The Korea Securities Association announced on the 28th that Professor Seon was inaugurated as the 39th president at the 46th regular general meeting.
Founded in 1976, the Korea Securities Association is the longest-established academic society in the finance and financial sectors in Asia, emphasizing the connection between academia and practice, contributing not only to pure academic research but also to improvements in financial practice and systems.
The main activities of the Korea Securities Association include publishing the English academic journal AJFS (Asia-Pacific Journal of Financial Studies) and the Korean academic journal KJFS (Korean Journal of Financial Studies) six times a year, holding four academic events annually (regular academic conferences and international academic conferences), organizing five policy symposiums annually, hosting three corporate restructuring forums annually, and supporting about 30 research projects each year.

Through these efforts, the Korea Securities Association publishes or presents research results on current issues and practices in Korea's capital markets and proposes necessary policy and system improvements, thereby contributing to the development of the domestic securities and financial industries.
