Scan QR to See Everything About Geumcheon-gu
Installed at entrances of 27 public facilities including district offices, community centers, district libraries, and cultural sports centers... Planned expansion to 408 locations after reviewing usage effectiveness and resident response
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yuseong Hoon) is implementing a smart district administration promotion service using QR codes.
Geumcheon-gu has installed QR code information boards at 27 local public facilities frequently used by residents, including the district office, community service centers, district libraries, cultural and sports centers, and resident open facilities, to make it easier for residents to receive district news.
By scanning the QR code information boards installed at the entrances of each facility with a smartphone, residents can easily check various information such as ▲COVID-19 status ▲education ▲culture and events ▲welfare and health ▲jobs from the Geumcheon-gu blog, YouTube, and official website.
QR code stands for "Quick Response" and is a code that can contain more information than a barcode. Recently, QR code usage has become routine as residents frequently encounter it for COVID-19 access management, information searches, and participation in online events.
Geumcheon-gu has been providing district information to residents through various media and methods such as promotional text messages, newsletters, elevator media boards, IPTV, and digital signage.
With the addition of this smart district administration promotion service using QR codes, it is expected that residents' accessibility to district information will be further enhanced.
Geumcheon-gu plans to expand the installation to 408 locations including economic and startup support facilities, welfare facilities, educational support facilities, and parks after reviewing the usage effects and resident response.
Mayor Yuseong Hoon of Geumcheon-gu said, “We hope residents will conveniently obtain district news through the QR codes installed at public facilities,” and added, “We will strive to promote smart publicity projects using various media so that residents can easily access necessary information anytime and anywhere.”
