Ministry of Foreign Affairs Advises Departure from Ukraine Border Area in Belarus
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the government has issued a Level 3 travel advisory, equivalent to a departure recommendation, for certain areas of Belarus bordering Ukraine.
On the 25th, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it would raise the travel advisory to Level 3 for the Brest and Gomel regions, which are Belarusian areas adjacent to Ukraine.
Previously, a special travel caution had been issued for these areas due to the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained, "Citizens currently staying in the region are advised to move to safe areas unless for urgent matters, and those planning to travel are requested to cancel or postpone their trips."
