Kolon, Last Year's Sales 5.41 Trillion Won... Largest Performance Since Holding Company Launch
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Kolon has achieved its highest performance since the establishment of its holding company in 2010.
On the 25th, Kolon announced that its sales reached 5.4104 trillion KRW last year based on IFRS consolidated standards, an increase of 10.6% compared to the previous year. Operating profit rose 22.4% to 332.2 billion KRW, and net profit also grew 2.4% to 170.7 billion KRW.
Sales significantly increased due to the expansion of housing and construction projects in Kolon Global's construction division and increased vehicle sales in the distribution division.
Kolon Global recorded strong performance not only in the construction division but also in the automobile and trading divisions. Kolon Industries, an equity-method affiliate, saw improved results due to increased profits in the industrial materials and chemical sectors and improved profit margins in the fashion sector.
Kolon Industries' manufacturing division announced active investments last year, including the expansion of superfiber aramid and tire cords, which are key materials for automobile tires. The fashion division is also accelerating growth through brand portfolio improvements and the launch of new brands.
