Opening of 'Gwangju Regional Disabled Health Care Center' Entrusted to Chonnam National University Hospital

According to Chonnam National University Hospital on the 25th, about 30 guests, including Lee Yong-seop, Mayor of Gwangju, Ahn Young-geun, Director of Chonnam National University Hospital, Jin Geon, Chairman of the Gwangju Disabled People's Federation, and Lee Soon-hwa, President of the Gwangju Women with Disabilities Solidarity, attended the opening ceremony held the previous day.

The Gwangju Disabled Medical Center operates as an institution carrying out health and medical management projects for local disabled individuals to improve their health rights and medical accessibility.
In particular, it will carry out ▲ health and medical management projects for disabled individuals ▲ maternal health projects for women with disabilities ▲ education projects for healthcare personnel and disabled individuals and their families ▲ and projects providing linked medical services such as health checkups, treatment, and rehabilitation.
To use the center’s services, individuals must be referred to the center through medical institutions, public health centers, or welfare facilities. After consultation and evaluation, if selected as a management target, they will receive health and medical management.
Director Choi Inseong stated, “As a hub for health and medical care for local disabled individuals, we will build a network that enables continuous exchange and interaction through smooth cooperation with related organizations.”
Ahn Young-geun, Director of Chonnam National University Hospital, said, “We expect the center to serve as a control tower that comprehensively manages and supports the health rights and medical accessibility of disabled individuals so that no disabled person suffers in medical blind spots.”
