Although Dong-Eui University failed to advance to the finals, they reached the national tournament semifinals consecutively, following their runner-up finish at last year's final U-League King of Kings Tournament.
On the 24th, at the Sanyang 4 District Stadium in Tongyeong, Dong-Eui University scored the opening goal against Gwangju University, the champion of last year's 57th Spring College Federation Tournament Hansan Battle Cup, in the Tongyeong Cup semifinals.
After conceding an equalizer, the match ended 1-1 in regular time, and Dong-Eui University lost 3-4 in the penalty shootout, securing 3rd place.
In the main tournament, Dong-Eui University defeated Soongsil University and Dongwon University in penalty shootouts to advance to the quarterfinals.
In the quarterfinals against Kyung Hee University, they conceded the first goal in the first half but came back with consecutive goals by players Lee Seung-yeop and Kim Dae-han in the second half to win and advance to the semifinals.

The tournament, hosted by the Korea University Soccer Federation, featured 81 universities nationwide and was divided into two leagues: the Hansan Battle Cup and the Tongyeong Cup. After the preliminary rounds, a total of 42 teams advanced to the main tournament.
