"Condemning Russia for Direct Violation of International Law"
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Yoon Seok-yeol, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, said on the 24th regarding Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, "Peace without the backing of power means nothing."
At an emergency countermeasure meeting on the Ukraine situation held at the People Party headquarters that day, Candidate Yoon stated, "The reality of international diplomatic security is harsh," and added, "We must clearly recognize that this is not just a tragedy on the opposite side of the globe, but a vivid lesson for us surrounded by great powers." He emphasized, "South Korea must also make a cold-blooded choice," and said, "Declarations of the end of war and peace agreements shouted only in words will never guarantee peace on the Korean Peninsula."
He mentioned, "The government should abandon its obsession with declarations of the end of war and, based on a solid alliance with the United States and cooperation with the international community, implement a practical diplomatic strategy to prevent North Korea's provocations and stabilize the Korean Peninsula."
