Democratic Party Gwangju Campaign Committee Draws Attention with Unique Campaign Picking Up Trash
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Democratic Party of Korea's Gwangju Gi-eon-chi Election Countermeasures Committee carried out unique campaign activities targeting the 2030 ‘MZ generation’.
On the 24th, the Democratic Party's Gwangju election committee announced that it operated a ‘busking campaign team’ around Dongmyeong-dong, Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.
Lee Dong-hak, the Democratic Party's Youth Supreme Council member, along with the Gwangju Gi-eon-chi election committee leaders and youth election committee members participated together.
The busking campaign team met voters through ‘plogging’ activities. ‘Plogging’ is a newly coined term combining ‘pick up’ and ‘jogging,’ referring to an innovative environmental movement where participants jog while picking up trash on the streets.
Dongmyeong-dong, where the busking campaign team was active that day, is one of the places most frequented by the younger generation in Gwangju. The Democratic Party's Gwangju election committee and Supreme Council member Lee Dong-hak collected about 100 liters of illegally dumped trash while walking through the alleys of Dongmyeong-dong.
Following this, they conducted campaign activities targeting passing voters using a campaign vehicle in Dongmyeong-dong.
