Gwangju Buk-gu, Safety Inspection of Vulnerable Facilities During Thawing Season
Intensive Inspection of 38 Sites Including Steep Slopes Until April 4
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju City announced on the 24th that it will conduct safety management inspections during the thawing season targeting vulnerable facilities such as steep slopes until April 4.
This inspection was prepared to prevent various safety accidents through preliminary inspections as concerns about rockfall and collapse accidents increase due to ground deformation and cracks during the thawing season.
The inspection targets 38 locations including steep slopes, focusing on ▲whether cracks, subsidence, or bulging occur on steep rock or soil slopes ▲rockfall on upper slopes and the condition of surrounding drainage facilities ▲safety management status of excavation sections ▲safety and maintenance status of facilities.
Minor issues found during the inspection will be immediately corrected on-site, and facilities with potential safety accident risks will undergo repair and reinforcement work, along with safety education for construction site managers and building owners.
In particular, high-risk facilities will undergo detailed inspections with experts in related fields to enhance the effectiveness of the inspections, and risk factors will be systematically managed through history management using big data.
Director Moon In said, “During the thawing season, the strength of facilities weakens, increasing the risk of accidents,” and added, “We will conduct thorough preliminary inspections to prevent safety accidents.”
