Gwangju Seo-gu to Introduce 'Paperless Meeting System' Starting Next Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 24th that it will enhance work efficiency by establishing a smart administrative environment and promote low-carbon green growth lifestyle by introducing a 'Paperless Meeting System,' which will be fully implemented starting next month.
Seo-gu introduced this system to build an efficient and flexible work system that is not restricted by time and place during various meetings and committee sessions, while saving time and resources spent on printing meeting materials and practicing low-carbon green living.
To this end, earlier this year, after a demand survey, about 40 public officials were given work tablets first. The distributed devices are used for various purposes such as viewing and taking notes on meeting materials, searching reference materials, and opening remote video conferences in emergencies or urgent situations.
Seo-gu plans to expand the system throughout the work environment by supplementing issues arising during the implementation process and monitoring inconveniences according to the annual diffusion plan in the future, thereby advancing the operation method.
A Seo-gu official said, "Once paperless meetings are established, administrative effort and time spent on printing and publishing meeting materials can be reduced, which will not only lessen the workload but also save budget on purchasing paper and toner. We will first implement this for senior public officials and gradually expand it, aiming to conduct more than 80% of internal meetings using this method."
