Taekwang Industrial and Daehan Fibers, textile and petrochemical affiliates of Taekwang Group, recently held the 'Junior Board 6th Term' inauguration ceremony at their headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, and awarded appointment letters to 11 selected employees, the companies announced on the 24th. The Junior Board is an official communication channel between management and the younger generation. It started with the 1st term in 2017 and is now in its 6th iteration this year.
The board is composed of employees with more than two years of service and assistant manager-level staff recommended from each department at headquarters and factories. Through regular monthly meetings, they propose ideas for improving work processes and fostering a positive organizational culture. They also collect suggestions from frontline workers who usually find it difficult to communicate with management and relay these to the executives.
Last year, they achieved considerable results in overcoming the spread of COVID-19. Activities such as 'You Quiz on the Taekwang,' which shares interviews about employees' work and daily lives, 'Old Clothes Reborn,' donating work gloves made by recycling employees' old clothes, and the 'Taekwang GoGo Challenge,' which reduces plastic usage to contribute to the environment, received enthusiastic responses from executives and staff.
