Free Safety Inspection for Aging Private Buildings in Dong-gu, Gwangju
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Dong-gu, Gwangju announced on the 23rd that it will conduct a 'Visiting Free Safety Inspection Service' to prevent accidents occurring in small-scale aging private buildings.
During this safety inspection, while strictly adhering to quarantine guidelines, construction experts will visit the site to check safety vulnerabilities such as building tilt, external cracks, and deformation in the pre-registered buildings.
Dong-gu will assign five grades ranging from excellent to poor based on the inspection results, and building owners who receive a 'Needs Improvement' or 'Poor' rating will be advised to carry out repair work or a detailed safety diagnosis.
The eligible applicants are aging private buildings over 40 years old that are not subject to mandatory regular inspections, specifically buildings with three floors or less and a total floor area under 200㎡.
Buildings under regular inspection management according to relevant laws, such as apartment complexes with 300 or more households, are excluded.
Building owners or managers wishing to apply can visit the Dong-gu Office Architecture Division or the local administrative welfare center in their residential area, or apply via email. Application forms can be downloaded from the Dong-gu Office website.
