Samsung Galaxy S22 Series Surpasses 300,000 Pre-Activations on First Day... 'Record High'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Samsung Electronics' smartphone S22 series recorded the highest pre-order sales among the Galaxy S series.
Samsung Electronics announced on the 23rd that the first-day activation performance of the Galaxy S22, which started activation for pre-order customers on the 22nd, exceeded 300,000 units. This surpassed the previous record of 270,000 units set by the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3.
The Galaxy S22 series also set a new record by selling 1.02 million units during the 8-day pre-sale period. The previous highest record was 1,004,000 units held by the Galaxy S8. Considering that the pre-sale period at that time was 11 days, the current sales performance was even better.

The main driver of the success was the S22 Ultra. The S22 Ultra accounted for 60% of total sales. Samsung Electronics explained, "A large proportion of existing Galaxy Note series users purchased the Galaxy S22 Ultra."
