Foundation for Educational Recovery Needed... Busan Office of Education Operates COVID-19 Substitute Teaching Staff Pool
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education is forming a substitute teaching workforce related to COVID-19 to expand support for classes in kindergartens, elementary, middle, and high schools.
The expanded support is implemented to minimize class disruptions even during emergencies when COVID-19 cases surge rapidly.
The workforce pool consists of 235 part-time instructors: 45 for kindergartens, 93 for elementary schools, and 97 for secondary schools, to cover substitute classes and student management.
Part-time instructors will support classes to alleviate difficulties at the respective schools when class gaps are expected due to teachers working from home caused by COVID-19 infections.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education is actively supporting a stable school curriculum by expanding the operation of 155 dedicated basic academic skill teachers to prevent academic decline caused by COVID-19 and strengthen the basic academic safety net, as well as 175 elementary subject-specialized teachers to resolve overcrowded classes.
