15 from Changwon, Sacheon, and Haman, Annual Support of 24 Million Won
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Gyeongsangnam-do and the Gyeongsangnam-do Economic Promotion Agency are recruiting participating companies and participants for the ‘2022 Hope Ladder Job Project between High School Graduates and Leading Companies.’
The Hope Ladder Job Project is a youth job project led by local governments under the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, launched for the first time this year.
It is designed to connect young people who graduated from specialized high schools in the province with leading companies offering on-site training, providing jobs to youth and helping them settle in the region.
Gyeongsangnam-do plans to support regional settlement expenses and wages for specialized high school graduates under 39 years old in the province and on-site training leading companies that hire these youths.
A leading on-site training company refers to a company among on-site training participating companies that meets the leading company requirements set by the Gyeongnam Office of Education, such as on-site training hours, training conditions, employment environment, and a certain scale of employees, and can receive a leading on-site training company certificate from the Office of Education.
As of January 1 this year, any on-site training leading company that publicly hires specialized high school graduates or prospective graduates aged 15 to 39 in the province and signs a labor contract can participate.
Only youths selected after the announcement date are eligible, and youths hired before the recruitment announcement of participating companies cannot receive support.
Gyeongsangnam-do plans to set the number of supported persons at 15, allocating 10 to Changwon City, 2 to Sacheon City, and 3 to Haman County by city and county.
Participating companies will receive wage support of up to 1.8 million KRW per month per youth, with a maximum of 2 youths per company, amounting to about 24 million KRW per person annually for up to 2 years.
In the third year of the project, if the youth employed at the workplace maintains regular employment, converts to regular employment, or settles by obtaining regular employment or starting a business at another workplace in the province, up to 10 million KRW will be supported to the youth.
Companies must bear 10% of the supported wages, and insurance premiums for employers and employees, severance pay, or retirement pensions must be borne or accumulated separately.
Salaries consist of a base pay of at least 2 million KRW per month and various allowances, which participating companies can design autonomously.
Workers will receive job adaptation support such as job training and labor consultation, and will be assigned tasks suitable for customized education, related to their major, or required by the company.
Applications can be submitted until 24:00 on March 21, through the Gyeongsangnam-do Local Government-led Youth Job Project website and others.
Detailed information can be found on the official Gyeongsangnam-do website and the announcement boards of the provincial and city/county websites. Companies wishing to participate should apply online to the relevant project agency within the application period.
