Mokpo City Intensifies Disinfection Efforts Amid Omicron Spread Concerns

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] Mokpo City, Jeollanam-do announced on the 22nd that it is making every effort to disinfect and prevent the rapid increase of Omicron confirmed cases.
On January 1st, the city distributed 7,200 liters of diluted disinfectant solution to 23 dong administrative welfare centers for citizens to use whenever disinfection is needed.
Through 10 health center disinfection personnel, Mokpo conducts daily intensive disinfection at vulnerable facilities such as social welfare facilities, senior centers, and screening clinics.
In addition, each dong administrative welfare center has an emergency autonomous disinfection team composed of employees and self-governing organization members, who work together with 46 disinfection workers hired through the local disinfection job project to thoroughly disinfect every corner of the district daily.
The city plans to continue focusing on disinfecting vulnerable facilities and doing its best to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

A city official stated, “Any citizen who needs disinfectant can bring a personal sprayer and visit the dong administrative welfare center to receive a distribution,” and added, “Currently, the priority is to reduce the wave of the pandemic and minimize Omicron infections, so we ask for the cooperation of all citizens in participating in disinfection efforts.”
