Shinhan Financial Investment Issues New 'Waste Disposal ETN'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Shinhan Financial Investment announced on the 22nd that it has issued the 'Shinhan FnGuide Waste Treatment ETN (Exchange-Traded Note),' a portfolio composed of 10 selected KOSPI and KOSDAQ listed stocks with high business relevance to waste treatment, weighted by free-float market capitalization.
The newly listed ETN is based on FnGuide's 'FnGuide Waste Treatment Index' and selects 10 stocks with high relevance to waste treatment from listed stocks that meet basic requirements such as a market capitalization of over 100 billion KRW and an average daily trading volume of over 1 billion KRW (60-day average) to compose the index. It was issued on the 18th and is scheduled to be listed on the Korea Exchange on the 25th.
The waste treatment industry is divided into collection and transportation, intermediate treatment, final treatment, and comprehensive treatment sectors, each requiring specific permits to operate. Additionally, due to the public nature unique to the industry, it is sensitive to changes in environmental policies and regulations. With the recent global focus on eco-friendliness, environmental regulations are also being strengthened, drawing attention to companies with excellent treatment technologies.
