All-Out Effort to Secure National Budget... Gyeongbuk Gumi City Pulls in 3 Trillion Won for 70 Projects

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Gumi City, Gyeongbuk Province, held the '2023 National Investment Budget Securing Report Meeting' on the 21st to secure national support budget for next year.
At the meeting, a total of 70 projects, including new projects for fostering major policy projects and future strategic projects, with a total project cost of 3.1526 trillion KRW, were reviewed for alignment with government policies, project feasibility, and practicality.
Major projects in the R&D sector include ▲40 billion KRW for establishing the Northeast Region Metaverse Hub Valley, ▲1.9 billion KRW for operating the XR Device Development Support Center, ▲1.5 billion KRW for supporting commercialization demonstration of core hologram technology development, ▲1.4 billion KRW for the Gyeongbuk Design-led Manufacturing Innovation Support Project, ▲1.3 billion KRW for developing core measurement/inspection technology based on holograms, ▲1.3 billion KRW for software-based intelligent SoC/FPGA modularization support project, and ▲1.2 billion KRW for flexible printed electronics new electronic industry technology development.
In the SOC sector, projects include ▲25.4 billion KRW for constructing the Daegu Metropolitan Subway Network (Gumi~Gyeongsan), ▲20 billion KRW for opening the access road to the 5th Industrial Complex, ▲19.9 billion KRW for disaster risk improvement district maintenance projects (4 locations), ▲7 billion KRW for national road expansion between Gumi and Gunwi IC, ▲2.6 billion KRW for national road improvement between Gumi and Gimcheon, and ▲1 billion KRW for the highway between Bukgumi IC and Gunwi JC.
This national budget project plans to concretize project plans through expert consultation after gathering opinions from Gyeongbuk Province and central government ministries.
Additionally, from the budget request stage at central government ministries to the final confirmation by the National Assembly, continuous consultations and information exchanges will be conducted to secure a favorable position for government budget acquisition.
They also plan to proactively respond to securing national funds related to research and development for future technology innovation and digital transformation, and to securing national funds for building a wide-area transportation network to reduce logistics costs for resident companies and improve living conditions in preparation for the integrated new airport era.
