Cheongsong-gun plans to focus its administrative efforts on realizing "Happy Cheongsong with the Residents" through creating a safe environment, just like the county's slogan "Oxygen Cafe."
The county will invest 700 million KRW in support projects for balanced development around dams and power plants, and 360 million KRW in support projects for areas surrounding power plants. This year, it newly secured 100 million KRW for the Cheongsong Pumped Storage Solar Power Plant surrounding area support project, which will be used to improve the welfare of residents suffering indirect damages from dam and power plant construction.
Road maintenance will enhance residents' safety and convenience. The county plans to provide a safe and pleasant road environment through expansion, paving, and alignment improvements of county roads and rural roads. Additionally, 2 billion KRW will be invested to repair aging bridges such as Sabusil 2 Bridge, Odusan 1 Bridge, and Mojil 4 Bridge.
Cheongsong-gun will spend 13.6 billion KRW on small-scale rural water development projects in areas suffering from drought due to insufficient agricultural water, installing hydraulic facilities such as reservoir water channels to reduce drought damage on 67 hectares of farmland.
With a budget of 1.6 billion KRW, rock wells and water supply pipelines will be installed as field infrastructure in Hwanggok District, Sejang-ri, Jinbo-myeon, and Gudeok District, Jisori, Andeok-myeon. Additionally, 2 billion KRW will be used to repair and maintain 52 aging reservoirs and agricultural infrastructure sites. These efforts are expected to significantly improve agricultural productivity and farming conditions.
The project to underground the "spider web electric wires" in Cheongsong-eup is also underway. The undergrounding project on Jungang-ro in Cheongsong-eup, which started last year, is progressing along a 1.3 km section from Cheongsong Bus Terminal to the old County Residents' Hall, with a total project cost of 8.5 billion KRW and is scheduled for completion in the first half of this year.
The undergrounding project on Geumwol-ro in Cheongsong-eup, spanning 0.9 km from the County Office Intersection to Kim Jin-seok Automobile Hospital, will begin construction in March with a total project cost of 5.5 billion KRW.
Cheongsong-gun is also promoting river projects to proactively improve areas at risk of natural disasters. It has invested 6.5 billion KRW in five disaster risk improvement districts and 4.7 billion KRW in five small river maintenance districts. With 3.7 billion KRW of national funds secured this year, it will improve steep slope collapse risk areas such as Heonsil, Eocheon, and Hwamok districts.
To recover from damages caused by Typhoons Maysak and Haishen two years ago and prevent repeated future damages, 9.6 billion KRW of national funds will be invested in the Gu-pyeongcheon disaster recovery project. Additionally, 400 million KRW will be spent to create a clean river environment by maintaining river flow areas and sediment deposits.
Yoon Kyung-hee, the mayor of Cheongsong-gun, said, "We will focus administrative power centered on the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters to overcome COVID-19, and invigorate the local construction economy through early ordering and speedy promotion of public construction projects."
