Haenam-gun Wins ESG Comprehensive Award...The Only County-Level S Grade in Governance Nationwide

[Haenam＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Jeonnam Haenam-gun won the grand prize for the comprehensive rating at the 2022 Local Government ESG Korea Awards held on the 18th.

The county announced that it received an excellent (A) grade in the comprehensive rating and was the only county-level entity nationwide to be selected for the highest (S) grade in the governance category, demonstrating outstanding ESG capabilities.

The ESG evaluation governance category consists of evaluation factors such as the promises of the head of the organization, financial efficiency and soundness, resident participation and council activities, and innovation evaluations over the past three years.

Haenam has been recognized as the most exemplary local government in fulfilling promises during the 7th term of the elected government by winning the highest grade (SA) for three consecutive years in the nationwide basic local government mayoral promise fulfillment and information disclosure evaluation hosted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters, and also winning awards for three consecutive years in the Manifesto Best Practice Competition aimed at discovering excellent promise fulfillment cases.

The 65 promises confirmed through commitments with residents at the launch of the 7th term of the elected government show a 98% implementation rate, representing the highest level nationwide.
