Official Launch of Jindo-gun Disabled Sports Association
[Jindo = Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-kyung] Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 18th that the Disabled Sports Association, which will support the health promotion and activation of life sports for the disabled, has officially launched.
No separate launching ceremony was held due to the spread of COVID-19.
On November 19 last year, Jindo-gun held the inaugural general meeting of the Jindo-gun Disabled Sports Association, conducted the recruitment of the secretariat director, formed the board of directors, and reviewed and approved the business plan and budget.
The board appointed Jindo-gun Governor Lee Dong-jin as the ex officio chairman and selected a total of 21 executives, including Kim Heung-sam as the standing vice chairman.
The Jindo-gun Disabled Sports Association has also completed the approval for the establishment of the Jeollanam-do Disabled Sports Association and is currently organizing 15 affiliated sports organizations.
In particular, a temporary secretariat has been set up in the Jindo-gun Public Stadium area, and work has begun on ▲ fostering and supporting disabled sports clubs ▲ developing and distributing disabled life sports programs ▲ hosting and supporting disabled sports competitions ▲ and disabled sports exchanges.
Standing Vice Chairman Kim Heung-sam stated, “We will systematically foster and support the sports activities of about 500 disabled people in the region.”
Meanwhile, Jindo-gun plans to relocate the office of the Jindo-gun Disabled Sports Association to the Disabled Gymnasium currently being constructed in the Namsan-ri area of Jindo-eup, which is scheduled to be completed in March next year.
