This forum broadly discussed the discovery of AI business models for Gwangju, growth plans for an AI-Metaverse convergence city, and AI convergence platform strategies responding to digital transformation.
The event, co-hosted and organized by Gwangju City, the AI Industry Convergence Project Group (Director Lim Cha-sik), the Korea Federation of Science and Technology Societies Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Association (Chairman Choi Yong-guk), Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology Promotion Agency (Director Yoon Seok-gu), Honam University, Chonnam National University, and Chosun University LINC+ Project Groups, was attended by about 40 participants including related organizations, universities, and local science and technology experts, exchanging various opinions on Gwangju's innovative growth in the post-COVID-19 era.

Yang Seung-hak, Director of Honam University LINC+ Project Group, said, "For the future development of Gwangju, which is becoming an AI-centered city, the development of AI technology tailored to the characteristics of local industries must proceed simultaneously," adding, "To this end, it is important to maximize the use of infrastructure in the AI direct complex and to promote related workforce training and industry-academia cooperation."
