Belarus President "May Arm with Nuclear Weapons if Faced with External Threats"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus, hinted at the possibility of nuclear armament.
According to AFP and other sources on the 17th, President Lukashenko stated in an interview with the state news agency Belta News, "If faced with external threats, we may deploy nuclear weapons."
He added, "If our enemies act foolishly and thoughtlessly, we can deploy nuclear weapons and even more powerful arms to protect our territory." He also expressed intentions to import the S-400 surface-to-air missile system from Russia and deploy it near the capital, Minsk.
