Hampyeong-gun Accelerates Agricultural Production Infrastructure Improvement with 16.9 Billion Won Investment to Enhance Farming Environment
Expectations for Improvement of Agricultural Environment and Enhancement of Agricultural Productivity
[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do is accelerating the promotion of agricultural production infrastructure maintenance projects to improve the farming environment.
According to the county on the 16th, a budget of 16.9 billion KRW will be invested to promote agricultural production infrastructure maintenance projects to ensure smooth supply of agricultural water and prevent natural disasters.
The main projects to be promoted this year include ▲ Disaster Risk Reservoir Maintenance Project (6.5 billion KRW) ▲ Surface Water Reinforcement Development Project (2.5 billion KRW) ▲ Repair and Maintenance of Hydraulic Facilities Project (3.7 billion KRW) ▲ Small-scale Agricultural Production Infrastructure Maintenance Project (1.8 billion KRW) ▲ Rural Living Environment Maintenance (800 million KRW) ▲ Field Infrastructure Maintenance (700 million KRW), etc.
The ‘Okdong-Suhaji District Drainage Improvement Project’ is a project to install drainage pump stations and drainage gates in areas prone to frequent flooding. Construction began in December last year and is scheduled to be completed in 2025.
The ‘Disaster Risk Reservoir Maintenance Project’ is a project to maintain reservoirs that received a D grade in detailed safety inspections. It plans to inspect and repair aging facilities such as embankments and spillways.
Currently, the county is promoting maintenance of four disaster risk reservoirs including Maesanje and Oksanje, with completion scheduled for December this year.
For new districts, administrative procedures will be completed and orders placed this year for Geumsanje and Hakcheonje.
In addition, to ensure stable agricultural water supply in preparation for drought, repair and maintenance projects for hydraulic facilities are underway in seven locations including Gajeong District and Guksan District.
A county official said, “We have completed thorough preparations, including design and other preliminary procedures since last year, to start this year’s projects early.”
