Jangseong-gun and Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Join Hands for Food Plan Urban-Rural Win-Win Cooperation
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, signed a "Food Plan Urban-Rural Win-Win Cooperation Business Agreement" with Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.
According to the county on the 16th, the signing ceremony was held with the attendance of Yuduseok, Jangseong County Governor, Kim Samho, Gwangsan District Mayor, and many other officials.
Through this agreement, both institutions agreed to jointly promote ▲ the shared use of resources respecting the unique local charm and characteristics of production and consumer resources ▲ information exchange and cooperation across all areas related to food ▲ establishment of governance cooperation systems at public and private levels ▲ joint profit creation modeling for urban-rural win-win projects to build a local virtuous cycle food system.
The Food Plan is a project that plans the entire distribution process of agricultural products produced locally, systematically and strategically establishing all stages from production and distribution to consumption of agricultural products.
The goal is to guarantee stable income for small and medium-sized farms in the region and provide fresh and safe food to consumers.
Both institutions plan to promote urban-rural coexistence through collaboration such as activating local food consumption, linking the supply of fresh and safe agricultural products to public meal markets including schools and welfare meal services, and expanding consumer experiences and education to revitalize urban-rural exchanges.
A county official said, "This agreement with Gwangsan-gu is expected to greatly contribute not only to securing stable sales channels for county farmers but also to revitalizing the local economy," adding, "We are confident it will become a representative successful case of urban-rural win-win cooperation, and we will do our best to create synergy effects."
