Expanding Agricultural Food Distribution Sector... Sangju-si, Gyeongbuk Invests 20.4 Billion KRW in 4 Areas
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Sangju City in Gyeongbuk announced on the 15th that it will boldly invest 20.4 billion KRW in the agricultural food distribution sector.
This year, the city set the slogan for agricultural food distribution as "Fostering Future Agriculture through Innovation."
It decided to invest 20.4 billion KRW in 47 projects under four major focus policies.
The four major focus policies are ▲ revitalization of production area distribution organizations and strengthening market competitiveness ▲ establishment of a virtuous cycle food system ▲ strengthening competitiveness of convergence industries and activation of direct transactions of agricultural specialties ▲ pioneering overseas markets for agricultural food and expanding exports.
First, to increase price competitiveness by adjusting the shipment timing of agricultural products and reduce distribution costs, 11.3 billion KRW will be invested in strengthening market competitiveness through the construction of agricultural product production area distribution centers, expansion of distribution facility infrastructure, and support for commercialization.
To supply healthy local agricultural products and promote consumption, 4.1 billion KRW will be invested to establish a virtuous cycle food system through the creation of local food direct stores, free meals for kindergartens, elementary, middle, and high schools, eco-friendly agricultural product school meals, and fruit snacks for elementary after-school care classrooms.
Additionally, 1 billion KRW will be invested to strengthen the competitiveness of convergence industries by fostering the agricultural food processing industry, revitalizing sixth industry business entities, direct transactions between urban and rural areas, supporting sales channels using live commerce, and operating the Myeongju Sangju Mall.
To pioneer overseas markets for agricultural food and expand exports, 4 billion KRW will be invested to strengthen export competitiveness through expanding the export base for fresh agricultural products, upgrading the quality of excellent agricultural food, export promotion incentives, operating overseas promotional centers, and marketing support.
