Hamyang-gun Provides Incentives to Drivers for 'Greenhouse Gas Reduction'
Recruitment of Participants for Car Carbon Point System on a First-Come, First-Served Basis
From March 2, Targeting Non-Business Passenger and Van Vehicles
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] From March 2, Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, will recruit participants on a first-come, first-served basis for the 'Automobile Carbon Point System,' which provides incentives for reducing vehicle mileage.
The Automobile Carbon Point System is an expanded program of the carbon point system, which was previously implemented for buildings such as homes and commercial establishments to promote greenhouse gas reduction in daily life, now extended to the automobile sector.
Eligible participants are non-commercial passenger cars and vans with 12 seats or fewer registered in Hamyang-gun. This year, about 40 vehicles will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis for those wishing to participate.
However, eco-friendly vehicles (electric, hydrogen, hybrid, etc.), commercial vehicles, and vehicles owned by corporations or organizations are excluded. Only one vehicle per person (owner basis) can participate.
Participation performance is evaluated based on the reduction rate and amount of mileage, with up to 100,000 points recognized. 100,000 points are converted to 100,000 KRW and paid in cash.
Those wishing to participate can sign up on the Automobile Carbon Point System website and submit a photo of the vehicle license plate, a photo of the odometer showing cumulative mileage, and a copy of the vehicle registration certificate.
