[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] Ahn Cheol-soo, the presidential candidate of the People’s Party, emphasized on the 15th that by fully embracing President Park Jeong-hee, he will "create a second Miracle on the Han River through a second scientific and technological advancement of the nation."
On the morning of the same day, after officially starting his election campaign in Daegu, Candidate Ahn visited the birthplace of President Park Jeong-hee in Gumi, Gyeongbuk. At this site, he told reporters, "The root of the 555 growth pledge ? to create five world-class scientific and technological fields, establish five global conglomerates like Samsung Electronics, and enter the ranks of the world’s top five economies ? is President Park Jeong-hee."
He stated, "President Park Jeong-hee believed that advancing science and technology was the only path to South Korea’s development. Under this conviction, he established the Ministry of Science and Technology and invited numerous foreign scientists and technologists. I, Ahn Cheol-soo, will create a second Miracle on the Han River in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, generating future growth engines and jobs."
While campaigning in front of Gumi Station, he appealed for support, saying, "I want to tell you not to look at the party but at the person."
