Changwon City Provides 4.3 Billion Won Support for Vehicle Emission Reduction Device Installation … Let's Create Clean Air for Our Children Together!
1,280 Old Diesel Vehicles Accepted from the 16th to March 2nd
Separate Maintenance Support for 3 Years, Benefits Including Precision Inspection and Environmental Charges Exemption
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Changwon City, Gyeongnam Province, will implement the 2022 Vehicle Emission Reduction Device Attachment Support Project starting from the 16th.
The purpose is to reduce fine dust emitted from old diesel vehicles and create a clean city where citizens can breathe safely.
This project will be carried out on approximately 1,280 vehicles with a budget of 4.3 billion KRW, supporting vehicle emission reduction devices (DPF) and PM·NOx reduction devices.
DPF support is targeted at owners of diesel vehicles registered in Changwon City as of the announcement date with emission grade 5, and PM·NOx reduction devices are supported for owners of diesel vehicles from 2002 to 2007 with engine displacement between 5,800 and 17,000 cc and power output between 240 and 460 PS.
For attaching vehicle emission reduction devices, 4.2 billion KRW will be invested to support about 1,275 vehicles, and for attaching PM·NOx reduction devices, a budget of 75 million KRW will provide benefits to about 5 vehicles.
Applications can be submitted from the 16th to March 2nd by signing up on the Vehicle Emission Grade System website, and the final selection will be decided on March 31st.
Vehicle emission reduction devices will be supported at about 90% of the device price, up to 6,507,000 KRW, and PM·NOx reduction devices at about 99% of the device price, up to 13,533,000 KRW. Additionally, maintenance costs for 3 years of 462,000 KRW for DPF and 2,262,000 KRW for PM·NOx will be separately provided.
If a vehicle equipped with a reduction device passes the performance maintenance inspection by the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, it will be exempt from detailed emission inspections for 3 years.
Environmental improvement charges will also be exempted for 3 years, but if the vehicle is scrapped or deregistered within the mandatory operation period of 2 years, the subsidy may be reclaimed.
