Naver D2SF Makes New Investments in Two Startups Supporting Small and Medium-Sized Businesses
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Naver has made new investments in two startups to support the stable growth of online SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) that have ventured into entrepreneurship through Smart Store.
Naver's startup incubation organization D2SF announced on the 15th that it has made new investments in ‘Laplace Technologies’ and ‘Newvessel,’ startups that support the growth of online SMEs.
Laplace Technologies develops data-driven business diagnosis and customized strategy recommendation solutions, while Newvessel is a brand that acquires SME brands facing growth limits to help increase their value and share profits.
Laplace Technologies’ data analysis solution, ‘Laplace Analytics,’ is a product that maximizes seller convenience, allowing sellers to understand data and execute business strategies without professional development knowledge. It currently has over 80 brands as clients and can easily integrate with Naver Smart Store and Cafe24 merchants.
Newvessel’s brand aggregator business helps SME brands take a step forward and grow by acquiring brands and forming partnerships to expand global channels, optimize operations and supply chains, discover new products, and increase brand value while sharing profits. It plans to secure partnerships mainly with domestic e-commerce brands with high growth potential during the first half of this year.
Through this investment, Naver plans to work closely with the two teams to support the stable growth of online SMEs that have challenged entrepreneurship through Smart Store. In January, Naver beta-opened the ‘Commerce Solution Market,’ which gathers technology solutions to strengthen the business competitiveness of online SMEs, and announced plans to discover and collaborate with various technology startups for SME growth in connection with D2SF.
Yang Sanghwan, leader of Naver D2SF, said, “The two teams newly invested in this time have various cooperation points with Naver in terms of supporting the scale-up of online SMEs,” and added, “D2SF plans to actively invest by discovering technology solutions that can create synergy with Naver and SMEs.”
