Gwangju Nambu Fire Station Conducts Fire Safety Consulting for Apartment Complexes
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Nam-gu Fire Station in Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 13th that it conducted fire safety consulting for stakeholders and residents of Bongseon-dong Namyang Hutton 2nd complex.
According to the Gwangju Fire Safety Headquarters, there were a total of 229 residential fires last year, of which 121 cases (52%) occurred in apartment complexes, with most caused by negligence.
Since apartment complexes are spaces where many people reside, the fatality rate in case of fire is high, and if a fire occurs in another unit, failure to recognize it early can lead to greater damage.
Accordingly, the Nam-gu Fire Station focused on providing guidance such as ▲ training on fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation ▲ inspection of automatic opening devices on rooftop doors ▲ caution regarding heating products like electric mats ▲ distribution of fire safety QR code stickers.
