19 Outstanding Road Maintenance Organizations Selected Including Korea Expressway Corporation Daegu Gyeongbuk Headquarters
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Tae-min] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 13th that it has selected the Korea Expressway Corporation Daegu-Gyeongbuk Headquarters (Expressways), the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Gwangju Regional Land Management Office (General National Roads), Chungnam (Provincial Roads), Incheon (Special and Metropolitan City Roads), Sangju-si, Gyeongbuk (City and County Roads), and Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul (District Roads) as the best institutions based on the evaluation results of maintenance status of road management agencies nationwide.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced the results of the "2021 Autumn Road Maintenance Evaluation" on the 13th, which included these details. Sangju-si, Gyeongbuk Province and Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul were selected as the best institutions in the city/county and district roads categories, respectively.
This evaluation was conducted through a central joint on-site and administrative assessment based on last year's autumn road maintenance evaluation results. The Ministry sets road maintenance periods twice a year (spring and autumn) to inspect and supplement the road repair status of road management agencies nationwide. In spring, the road management agencies conduct self-evaluations, and in autumn, a joint comprehensive evaluation is conducted for all road management agencies.
For the excellence awards, six places were selected by road grade: Korea Expressway Corporation Daejeon-Chungnam Headquarters, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Suwon Regional Land Management Office, Gyeongnam, Daegu City, Yeonggwang-gun, Jeonnam, and Seo-gu, Incheon. Seven places received encouragement awards: Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Hongcheon and Yesan Regional Land Management Offices, Jeonbuk, Chungbuk, Busan City, Hongseong-gun, Chungnam, and Suseong-gu, Daegu City.
The six institutions awarded the highest honors will receive championship flags, and a total of 26 employees who contributed to road maintenance within each excellent institution will be awarded ministerial citations.
