Korea Railroad Utilizes Idle Railway Land for 'Living Logistics Facilities'
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) will utilize idle railway land as living logistics facilities.
On the 13th, Korea Railroad announced that it will invite bids for operators to run 14 idle sites of over 1,000㎡ each (totaling 60,005㎡) around stations in Gyeonggi, Gangwon, Chungcheong, Jeolla, and Gyeongsang provinces as small and medium-sized living logistics facilities.
The bidding is a standalone project conducted separately from last month's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport-led 'Joint Public Idle Land Utilization Small and Medium Living Logistics Facility Supply Bidding.'
All logistics companies and distribution businesses, including courier, express delivery, and e-commerce, can participate in the bidding. The idle land can be operated as small-scale logistics facilities such as delivery centers.
Korea Railroad will give additional points and preferential treatment in selecting operators if small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners participate in the bidding, allowing up to three companies to jointly participate.
The application deadline is the 22nd of next month, and Korea Railroad plans to select operators after screening.
For more detailed information about the bidding, please visit the Korea Railroad website, the Korea Integrated Logistics Association, and the Railroad Logistics Association websites.
