'Allegations of Sexual Harassment and Workplace Bullying... Director of Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation Subordinate Institution Placed on Standby'
Foundation Sets Disciplinary Action Guidelines... Director A Completely Denies Allegations
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] The head of an institution under the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation has been placed on administrative leave amid allegations of workplace harassment.
According to the foundation's integrated labor union on the 12th, a report was received last November that Mr. A, the head of an institution under the foundation, had sexually harassed and verbally abused employees. The foundation has been investigating the matter until recently and has taken administrative leave measures.
The foundation plans to hold a personnel committee meeting soon to determine the level of disciplinary action against Mr. A.
Meanwhile, there have been criticisms that the foundation's response was inadequate, as it took over a month after receiving the report of Mr. A's alleged illegal activities to transfer the case to Gyeonggi Province.
In response, the foundation explained, "The delay in transferring the case was due to a lack of proper understanding of some regulations."
